Founder’s Story: Lauren Sikes

I am a learner and I am a teacher. But if I dig a little deeper, I am ultimately a dreamer, and I always have been. 

Over time, my dreams became clouded by other people's expectations, comparisons, and timelines. I stopped dreaming and began a multi-decades long journey of perfectionism and fear of failure that had me playing small, underperforming, and stuck in a rut for longer than I would like to admit. 

This mentality stifled both my professional and personal life. And, I missed the beautiful parts of life — authentic human connection and amazing life experiences. As I looked around, I wasn’t the only one. There were so many people with untold stories, emotions buried, dreams unrealized. Fearful of our own potential and possibility. And, ultimately our truths. 

I became tired of stifling my dreams and not showing up as my True Self. Instead I held my tongue in the name of pleasing people and status quo. I was scared to take up too much space and be seen as too passionate and too caring.

Something had to change, so I did something I wasn’t in the habit of doing. I asked my boss at the time for an opportunity. 

One conversation and one step forward reconnected me with the dreamer inside of me. That one conversation planted the seed that grew into Truth Collective®. Ultimately I created something I personally needed then and today — a place to discover my True Self, cultivate the power of Truth Talk™, and transform my life. 

Once I embarked on this journey, my life started to shift with renewed clarity, confidence, and connection. Now I get to share the roadmap with people who are ready to do what matters most — be true, as individuals and as a collective.
