The Power of a Team Check-In

Truth Talk® takes many different forms. One of the most powerful forms of Truth Talk® is proactive and preventative. It exists as a regular and intentional check-in and reset conversation. 

This can be done on an individual or collective level. During many of the leadership team retreats and workshops we facilitate that focus on team-building and vision-setting, we take teams through a powerful exercise called the True Team Inventory. We also do the same with individual coaching clients with the True Self Inventory.

Can you truly team-build and vision-set when the conditions of the team are unspoken? 

The True Team Inventory names the current reality, desired reality, and roadblocks. It provides teams with a framework to have an honest conversation about their team dynamics.

If your team has never conducted a True Team Inventory conversation, chances are there is untapped potential for your team and organization. There is also the possibility the unsaid is holding you, the team, and the organization back.

The Team Inventory helped us name what we have struggled with for some time. It opened up the way forward. 

There is not a perfect time to conduct a True Team Inventory. The magic is that you commit and do it. Then make it a regular part of how your team works together.
